AmeriCorps*VISTA Position
|
The Jewish Council of Yonkers is proud to offer the opportunity for an
individual to gain non-for-profit experience through an
AmeriCorps*VISTA
position:
-
Help research and prepare proposals for additional funding
-
Learn and implement the skills of grant writing; Develop relationships to
support our programs.
-
Be a liaison to the community and volunteers to ensure effective
administration of the programs;
be part of a team to develop new programs and participate in existing
programs, and recruit volunteers.

This position is full time (36-40 hours a week)

Insurance benefits

$10,416 stipend for the year
-
End of commitment bonus of either $1,200 cash award or $4,250 towards
tuition or the repayment of school loans.

Relocation allowance

The JCY will provide
skill-training, opportunities to build your resume and work portfolio, and a
mentor throughout the year to provide support and guidance. The JCY and
AmeriCorps are equal opportunity organizations.
Requirements: Must have own housing
and a car; B.A.
degree; excellent writing and communication skills; Internet savvy, with basic
office literacy; ability to work independently.
