We're proud to share the good news! Our 2011 Summer Reading Buddies programs broke all records!

The six week program paired volunteer "mentors" with elementary school "buddies" who attended sessions at The Riverfront Library in Yonkers and The Mount Vernon Public Library.

This year's program was an unprecedented success with more than 520 students from Yonkers and Mount Vernon working with over 130 volunteers to read more than 2500 books selected from the Summer Reading Lists assigned by their school districts.

JCY-Westchester Community Partners runs literacy programs throughout the school year.

All students who completed their summer reading assignments were awarded certificates and a backpack bookbag that confirmed
