Scholarship Program

 

In accordance with the Jewish Tradition of supporting education, JCY-Westchester Community Partners is committed to its Scholarship Program.

  

18 scholarships, totaling $14,150 were awarded to deserving Yonkers students, regardless of race, religion or nation of origin. We are proud that we are able to recognize outstanding achievements on a variety of levels, overcoming special needs, music, community service, academic excellence and financial need.

  

At the Annual Scholarship Brunch the JCY honored Ms. Marcy Leibert, Ms. Barbara Litt and Mr. Bernard Pierorazio, the 2011 new York State Superintendant of the Year.  They recevied the Education Leadership Awards for their service to the Yonkers Public Schools.

  

A tribute was given to honor Ms. Sheryl Chason, who tragically lost her life earlier this year, and was a big supporter of this program for many years.

 

  

The Scholarship Winners, their families and our honorees are invited to the Annual Scholarship Brunch, where everyone has the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, be entertained by local talent, meet our Staff and members of the Board, and receive well-deserved congratulations from the many elected officials who attend.
