Summer Reading Buddies 

  

Summer Reading Buddies meets twice a week for six weeks in the Yonkers Riverfront Library and once a week at the Mount Vernon Public Library. Children work with our volunteers on their assigned summer reading projects while their parents attend workshops on life skills offered through partner organizations.

  

Summer Reading Buddies grew again in its fourth summer. Over 400 children came to the Yonkers Riverfront and Mount Vernon Libraries during our six week program, where over 40 volunteers waited to help them do their Summer Reading assignments.

  

The program was a success at both locations and is highly anticipated every year as evidenced by the long lines of parents and children waiting for us to open every morning. We will continue this very popular program again in these two locations.
