Holocaust Education for Public School Students

NEVER AGAIN!

For one week every year (Yom HaShoah) Holocaust survivors volunteer their time to tell their stories.  Over 2,500 students listen, ask questions, and learn first-hand how the Holocaust impacted real people.  This program brings hundreds of public school children from Yonkers and Greenburgh to the synagogue to hear speakers, learn about the Holocaust and receive the message of the importance of tolerance and respect to all people.

This is the last generation of children who will ever meet a Holocaust survivor.

The Jewish Council of Yonkers, through the efforts of Helene Alalouf, with the cooperation of the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center Speakers Bureau, Lincoln Park Jewish Center and Rabbi Viņas, Greenburgh Jewish Center, Hidden Child Foundation/ADL, and the Yonkers Public Schools, makes this program possible.
