Terms and Conditions of Raffle

JCY-Westchester Community Partners Limited Charity Raffle

OFFICIAL RULES/REGULATIONS

 

1.  The purchase price of a single raffle ticket is $100. Google Checkout (online) VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover (in person or on phone) payments are accepted at time of purchase. Checks or money orders should be made payable to JCY-Westchester Community Partners. If the bank dishonors an entrant's check or credit card charge, the entry ticket will be declared invalid. Payments (ticket purchases) are not tax deductible.

 

2.  Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Winners need not be present at drawing in order to win prize.  Employees of JCY-Westchester Community Partners and their immediate family members are ineligible.

 

3.  Grand Prize winner will receive a cash prize of 10% of total ticket sales, up to $5,000.00, but only in the event that total ticket sales exceed $10,000.  First Prize winner will receive a cash prize of 5% of total ticket sales, up to $2,500.00, but only in the event that total ticket sales exceed $10,000.  Five Bonus Prize winners will each receive a cash prize of 2% of total ticket sales, up to $1,000.00, but only in the event that total ticket sales exceed $10,000.  Should ticket sales not exceed $10,000, then JCY-Westchester Community Partners, at its sole election and in its sole discretion, may postpone the date of drawing or cancel the raffle. 

 

4.  The Grand Prize, First Prize and Bonus Prizes will be drawn on April 18, 2010 at 15 Stratton Road, Scarsdale, NY. JCY-Westchester Community Partners reserves the right to cancel or change the date of the drawing if 100 raffle tickets are not sold.  Chances of winning are determined by the number of tickets sold and distributed. A minimum of 100 raffle ticket sales is required for the drawing but total sales will not exceed 500 tickets.

 

5.  JCY-Westchester Community Partners will receive 100% of the profit raised by the sale of raffle tickets to support the educational and operational activities of the organization.  Founded in 1919, JCY-Westchester Community Partners is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.

 

6.  All prizes may be considered ordinary income for tax purposes as per the IRS and New York State (or any state in which the winner resides). Each winner agrees that all applicable taxes or fees are his or her full and complete responsibility. Each winner may be required to pre-pay a portion of the tax liability prior to receiving the prize.

 

7.  Prize winners grant JCY-Westchester Community Partners permission to use their names, images and prize amounts for promotional purposes.

 

8.  Per IRS ruling, JCY-Westchester Community Partners understands that the purchase of raffle tickets is not considered a gift and does not qualify as a tax-deductible charitable contribution.  Please consult your tax professional for advice as to your specific situation.

 

9.  JCY-Westchester Community Partners reserves the right to reject any entry forms that are submitted with payment that does not constitute "good funds." Defective entry forms will be disqualified by JCY-Westchester Community Partners and any individuals and/or entities that submit such entry forms will be notified of the rejection as soon as practical under the circumstances. It is the responsibility of the entrant to comply with any federal laws or regulations as well as any specific to the state in which the entrant resides. In the event of a dispute of the rules of this raffle, the laws of the State of New York will preside.

 

10.JCY-Westchester Community Partners assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected or undelivered mail.

 

11.This raffle is being conducted pursuant to New York Law and every effort has been made to conform to local, state, and federal laws.
